MANOLARAKIS GIANNIS

I am 35 years old and I own around 600 olive trees, which I inherited from my father. The olives trees we have are 75% tsounati variety and the rest koroneiki variety. The tsounati variety has many difficulties; the trees are big and they need pruning, nets, spraying, you have to take care of them all the time. Koroneiki is an easier variety, you just thresh, collect, prune, you’re done; next year again! Being a farmer is hard work, but worth the effort. At the end of the day, there is no satisfaction like a job well done. It is great to engage with the land.
